Jon entered the insurance industry in 1985 with AMP General Insurance in Adelaide where he worked in all sections of the business, including accounts, underwriting and claims. Jon landed a role with the largest insurer in the Northern Territory – TIO. Through working various sales roles, Jon successfully earned the role of General Manager of TIO (Alice Springs). 

Following his time at TIO, Jon was an Authorised Representative of an insurance broking firm for 18 years. During this time, he also held a voluntary position on the NIBA NT committee.  

Jon enjoys getting to know clients, working within their budgets, and understanding their business in its entirety to ascertain the risk exposure and to provide advice, without any of the industry jargon. 

Outside of the industry, Jon religiously follows the AFL as he is a proud Port Power member. He was previously recruited to play AFL in the Northern Territory. Furthermore, Jon has a strong interest in horse racing and breeding. He has held positions such as: President of the Bernborough Club NT, and a board member of the Darwin Turf Club. 

One of Jon’s greatest achievements to date, has been successfully bringing a delipidated hotel, built in 1868, back to life. Ned Kelly stayed at this very hotel for 10x nights and it’s now an award-winning hotel in regional Victoria.
